THE  WEDDING   BARN   STORY
Traveling with our very young daughters, Jelsi and Kristana, to Bill and Dena
Arnold’s wedding south of Lewiston ID but north of Clarkston, WA, I spotted
this amazing barn in the middle of “no where”.  I asked Dave to stop so I could take
a photo. However, I was not getting the shot that I was looking for so in my wedding
attire, I climbed on top of our SUV and captured this moment.
The sky is “artist’s liberty” I must admit. I had kept a picture of this sky from a
lighthouse back East. I was fascinated by the movement and colors.
I decided to paint the sky first, because if I didn’t get it right, I would start over until
I did. For those of you who know me, “control” can be an issue, ask our girls. In
order to paint this sky you have to let the water flow and be very loose. That
includes the artist! So mostly I just took very deep breaths and had plenty of paint
to continue adding to get all of the colors I wanted.  Then it was a matter of tipping
the paper and letting the water flow or using a brush “loaded” with clean water and
let it move.
After doing some shows in Ritzville WA, I have found that many people that have
been raised in rural America know of a barn just like this one.
