| STORY OF THE POPPIES I love working with bright intense colors and Indian Yellow and Alizarin Orange are two of my favorites. Being very familiar with Georgia O'Keefe's famous oil painting of poppies, it was not until I was able to jump in the middle of my neighbor's huge poppy bush and photograph these up close that I found the inspiration that I needed. I actually "sprayed" the paint on the paper trying not to flatten the teeth of the watercolor paper and using limited brush stokes to achieve a more intense color. |
