STORY  OF THE  MANITO PEACE ROSE
I was learning how to shoot a camera in 'macro' so went to the Manito Rose
Gardens which I love. I got there very early in the morning and the sun was hitting
the roses just right and I was able to get the shot.  These are some of my favorite
colors to paint.  The very dark shadows on the left side contrasting the amazing
orange shadows clinched the decision to paint this piece.
The reproduction people have dubbed this their 'night mare' piece to reproduce.
We are still working on it. Since I need a print for my show and we were running
out of time, I decided to frame a mixed media piece. I still had the paint on my
palette so was able to get the precise colors I was looking for by adding more
paint to the print. Which was printed on heavy weight watercolor paper.  I am
hoping this is the first and the last of my mixed media prints for sale.
I love the 'shadow box' framing and almost suede looking matte board
complimenting the orange shading.
